Andy Critchlow earned his 10th open victory of the season at the Royal Dean Forest 25-mile time trial in Monmouthshire on Sunday morning, with Claire Emons the fastest female.

An impressive time of 26-47 ensured Paceline RT’s Critchlow finished at the head of the field, almost a minute ahead of Bynea Cycling Club’s Christopher Gibbard in 47-50.

Meanwhile, Conrad Moss (Nopinz) took third place on the day stopping the clock in 48-32.

Critchlow has enjoyed an impressive season and bounced back from a runners-up finish at the Virtual Cycling Club (MEN) 25-mile time trial two weeks earlier with another success in Monmouthshire, following another win at the Susse Cycling Association 15 last month.

In the women’s event, …a3crg rider Emons stopped the clock in 57-26 to take a clear victory by over four minutes.

Joanne Jago posted a time of 1-01-56 for the runners-up spot and third place went to CC Weymouth rider Michelle Lindley in 1-02-16.

Quickest road bike was Robbie Disney, for Aerologic RT, in 57-22 ahead of Tim Fletcher (Clevedon & District Road Club) who posted a time of 57-53.

Riders enjoyed good conditions with a slight tailwind on the outward leg, mostly sunny with clouds and a small amount of rain, while three riders punctured but avoided any crashes.

Running on the R25/7 course the event started northeast of Usk and proceeded southwest into Usk.

Riders then turned eastbound and headed along the A40 through the tunnel, before bearing left then turning left onto the B4293, crossing over to rejoin the A40 at Mitchel Troy to follow the route back past Raglan Interview to finish south of the start line.
