Toby Bush (Team Bottrill) and Millie Salmon (Clifton CC York) took the boys’ and girls’ titles respectively at the National Youth Championship Final over 10 miles, organised by City Road Club Hull.
Junior rider Bush won his first national title recording a time of 20 minutes and nine seconds – an average speed of over 29.7 miles per hour.
Taking part in her first open time trial juvenile rider Salmon won the girls’ event in 23-18.
The V714 saw competitors start near Gilberdyke in Yorkshire before heading out and back along B1230 to the turn at Howden.
Bush set a 10-mile personal best earlier this season of 19-44 and won the Spalding CC 10-mile event in June.
The Bottrill rider won the boys’ G.H.S Trophy finishing just five seconds quicker than Dylan Sage (Evolution Racing Academy) in 20-14.
Juvenile rider Albie Jones (North Cheshire Clarion) showed his talent to round off the overall boys’ podium positions - stopping the clock in 20-29.
With age group awards also available riders from across the country gathered in Yorkshire for the event which attracted a strong field with 65 finishers – all having qualified through district heats.
Clifton CC York rider Salmon recorded an average speed of over 25.7 miles per hour to win the girls’ G.H.S Trophy.
Junior rider Jess Pickavance (Team RL 360 I.O.M.) finished third in the same event two years ago and fifth last year.
Pickavance went one better than her bronze in 2021 to take a silver medal back to the Isle of Man this time out.
A close battle for the final girls’ overall podium position saw five riders separated by just 41 seconds as they battled over the Yorkshire course.
Juvenile rider Iris Gray (Welwyn Whs) came out on top clinching bronze with a time of 24-18. Gray’s finishing time was 1-22 quicker than she recorded at the London North DC qualifying event in June.
