Witcher, who lived up to his status as pre-race Spindata favourite with victory, also secured success last time out at the …a3crg Goodwood Closed Circuit TT League last month, as well as winning the Bournemouth Jubilee Wheelers 42km time trial in April - giving him three wins from five events this campaign.

Elsewhere, Hodgkins-Byrne, riding for Team Boompods, took victory in the women’s event in 32-43 ahead of promoting club rider Kerry Hickson in second (33-35) and third place went to Corinne Clark (Swindon Wheelers) in 34-18.

The promoting club enjoyed more success as fastest overall were tandem pair Rachael Elliott and Ian Greenstreet in 28-39, with clubmates Andy Tucker and Richard Cornes runners-up in 30-11, while a time of Peter Oliver and Christopher Edginton (ZeroBC Race Team) next fastest in 31-19.

In the road bike category GS Stella rider Dave Dent went quickest stopping the clock in a time of 33-28. Tom Quinlan (Fulfil The Potential Race Team) led the battle behind finishing second road bike (33-20) and Tom Bowering (TAAP Endura) was third. Lynne Scofield (Rockingham Forest Wheelers) was the only woman road bike competitor finishing in 42-36.

This event, on course H15/3, started just north of Hoe Benham and headed southeast through Wickham Heath until reaching Bath Road Junction where riders turned westbound along the A4 to Hungerford, turning back and retracing the route back along to finish just south of Stockcross.
