Marcel Schubert and Sarah Foulds were among the winners at the 10-mile event staged near Crathorne in North Yorkshire on Sunday by the VTTA North and Cleveland Coureurs.
Darlington CC veteran Schubert covered the T102 course in 20-22 to take overall victory by 47 seconds from Zurbaran Racing rider John Hewison, with third going to Jack Rees (HUUB-WattShop) who was just one second further back.
And in the women’s event Foulds (Velo Culture) clocked 26-02 to win that category by just three seconds from Ferryhill Wheelers’ Caroline Ratcliff, while third quickest of the women was Caroline Wallace (Moonglu CC) with 27-10.
Top road bike rider was Joset Murray (AIMS Cycling) with 21-52 for fifth place overall.
The out and back course mainly uses the A19, heading south from Crathorne down as far as Cleveland Tontine before turning back up the A19 and finishing just before Crathorne.
Course record holder Schubert was about a minute down on his 2021 record with conditions not in his favour this time, but he was still on form and secured his seventh open time trial victory of the season so far.
Other victories for Schubert have included being top veteran rider at the fifth round of the Merlin Cycles Classic Series the Circuit of Greystoke in Cumbria, as well as the Richmond CC sporting 23.5-miler back in May.
