Emma O’Toole earned her third straight win in the women’s event at the Poole Wheelers 25-mile time trial while Samuel Wadsley claimed his third victory from four events in the men’s event in Dorset.
Districts of Hamwic rider O’Toole, who also finished fastest female at the Sussex CA 25-mile time trial on April 27 and the Bournemouth Arrow CC 10-mile time trial on April 7, made it a trio of successes after registering 1:01-03.
That gave her the win ahead of …a3crg rider Kirsty McSeveney whose time of 1:03-01 helped her into second place ahead of the 1:04-03 set by Sien Van der Plank (New Forest CC) on a road bike.
In the men’s event Wadsley (Primera-TeamJobs) set a time of 51-05 on his way to the win with Tom Clements second in 51-27 and third place going to Wadsley’s team-mate Paul Jones in 52-19.
Wadsley also triumphed in the Bournemouth Arrow CC 10-mile time trial on April 7, having also been part of the winning team at the Antelope RT four-up team time trial 11.7-mile time trial at Thruxton in September 2022 alongside the National Closed Circuit Championships.
Ashley Newman (Primera-TeamJobs) was victorious in the road bike category in a time of 54-25, which gave him victory by 52 seconds from Poole Wheelers’ Alex Rowling, and third was James Horton (Wessex Road Club), another minute off the pace.
Fastest female on a road bike was Van Der Plank, with McPherson second.
This event, run on the P413 course just north of Organford, heads eastbound on the Upton bypass before turning at the A250 roundabout and following the bypass back westbound, passing the start to turn at the A25 roundabout and repeating the out-and-back a further three times until, on the third return, turning left onto Wareham Road, looping the roundabout back to the junction, then finishing on Organford Lane.
