Ian Guilor completed a second win of the season at the VTTA North Midlands 10-mile time trial in Lincolnshire, with Cheryl Symons the fastest in the women’s category on Saturday afternoon.

Riding for Mapperley CC, Guilor followed his success at the Rutland CC 10-mile time trial last month with another impressive ride here, clocking 20-52 during a tight contest that saw the top six riders separated by just 44 seconds.

Team Bottrill’s Stuart Henderson finished just inside 21 minutes to take second place in 20-59, while Stephen Feeney (Tactic Sport UK Race Team) was third in 21-01/

Henderson’s  Team Bottrill team-mate Julian Ramsbottom just missed out on the podium spots in 21-07.

In the women’s event, Symons (Hull Thursday RC) set an unbeaten 27-40, which was 2-22 ahead of Sheffield Triathlon Club’s Yvonne Twelvetree, with Team Lifting Gear Products’ Kathryn Armstrong taking third place in a time of 32-46.

The sole tandem entrants were Ala and Andy Whitehead, who finished in 26-05.

The 47 riders who completed the course enjoyed fine conditions throughout Saturday afternoon, while there were six non-starters.

Ran on the O10/1 course, the event was a straight out-and-back which started on the A614 and headed directly south to Blaxton where riders turned and followed the route back northbound to finish just south of the start line.
