Ben Goodwin claimed fastest male at the Bridgnorth CC 21-mile time trial in Shropshire on Sunday morning, with Catherine Coley the fastest woman.
Fibrax Wrexham RC rider Goodwin finished in 42-27 to take the honours ahead of Stafford Triathlon Club’s Thomas Bill who clocked 43-06, followed by Tim Beardmore, representing the promoting club, in 44.23.
There was yet more success for Bridgnorth Cycling Club with Coley registering an impressive 53-15 on her way to victory in the women’s event, while Bethan Till (Wrekinsport CC) took second place in 56-15.
Beardmore also finished as fastest veteran on standard in +4-25, as well as rounding out a successful day by taking further acclaim as part of the fastest team alongside Jonathan Mills-Keeling and Tim Cullinan for Bridgnorth in a combined 2:18-26.
In the road bike event fastest rider was Jemil Tokdemir (Team ASL-Bolton) in 45-31, with Celia Brown (Beacon Roads CC) quickest woman in 44-58 and Fibrax Wrexham RC’s Steve Aston finishing -1.07 to take the fastest veteran on standard title.
This 21-mile event, run on the D21/22 course, starts just west of Bridgnorth and proceeds along the A458 north-westerly through Morville to Much Wenlock where riders turn left onto the B4378, through Bourton and Brockton, reaching Shipton to turn onto the B4368 through Monkhopton and finishing opposite the Village Hall in Morville.
