Dan Blackburn (Epic Orange Race Team) took victory by over a minute in the VC Baracchi 50, while Davina Greenwell (Plomesgate CC) won the women’s event.
Veteran rider Blackburn took his first open time trial victory of the season in a winning time of one hour, 49 minutes and 32 seconds.
The new B50/17 course saw competitors start outside Harleston before heading straight up to the top turn and then climbing back past the start.
With a climb at either end of the course riders completed two out and back laps to the far turn at the roundabout with Norwich Road.
Blackburn, who celebrated his 46th birthday on the week of the event, was in fine form recording an average speed of over 27.3 miles per hour in sunny but increasingly breezy conditions.
A tight battle for second saw Adam Williams (St Neots CC) post a time of 1-50-49 which was five seconds quicker than Stefan Gloyn (Army Cycling) in 1-50-54.
Spindata had predicted a victory for Gloyn in 1-49-51 but in reality Blackburn beat that forecasted time on his way to victory.
Taking part in her first open time trial event in two years Greenwell recorded an average speed of over 23.7 miles per hour on her way to posting a winning time of 2-06-24.
Lara Franklin (Stowmarket & District CC) had to settle for second a minute back in 2-07-24, while quickest veteran on scratch Kerry Brennand (Newmarket Cycling & Triathlon Club) completed the podium positions in third (2-14-27).
Quickest of the two road bike competitors was John Manlow (Ely & District CC/B&T Motor Repairs) who stopped the clock in 2-01-30 ahead of third woman overall Brennand.
