Under-23 rider Samuel Asker (Richardsons-Trek RT) stormed to victory by 14 seconds in the Great Yarmouth CC 10, while Becky Ridge (Loose Cannon's Conditioning) won the women’s event.

Asker, aged 22, recorded a winning time of 20 minutes and nine seconds to take his third open victory of the season.

The B10/43 saw riders start near Redenhall on the A143 before heading past Earsham to the turn at Bungay after 5.6 miles before making the slightly shorter return journey to the finish outside Homersfield.

Despite sunny and dry conditions greeting riders the temperature was still cold which slowed times.

Asker, from Bury St Edmunds, has already won the Newmarket Cycling & Triathlon Club and CC Breckland 10-mile events this season and added a third win to his collection.

David Halliday (Team Bottrill) took second in 20-23 while Mark Richards (DAP Cycling Club) was a further 25 seconds back in third (20-48).

The quickest veteran on standard was Dominic Lowden (Diss & District CC) with +5.52, while Thomas Hudson (Loose Cannon's Conditioning) was best on handicap.

Loose Cannon's Conditioning were also the quickest team with Lloyd Chapman, Matt O’Brien and James Potter all finishing inside the top six places.

Toby Barnes (Great Yarmouth CC) was the only competitor in the junior event with the 15-year-old recording a person best time of 24-23.

In the women’s event Ridge was the clear winner posting a time of 22 minutes and 44 seconds which was 25 seconds clear of her nearest rival.

Veteran rider Ridge has also won the Plomesgate 10 and Orwell Velo 16.5-mile events already this season and took her third victory of 2023 on this occasion.

Hannah O’Brien (Loose Cannon's Conditioning) led the charge behind taking second in 23-09 while Denise Hurren (Sole Bay Cycle Sport) was third (24-03).

Hurren was also the best veteran woman on standard while Suzy Esser (Beccles Tri Club) won the handicap award.
