Adam Duggleby (ADDFORM Vive Le Velo) was the only rider to beat the 50-minute barrier on his way to victory in the VTTA East Mids 25, while Denise Burrows (AeroCoach) won the women’s event.
Duggleby, from Leeds, was in fine form during the Saturday afternoon event covering the course in an average speed of over 30 miles per hour on his way to stopping the clock in 49 minutes and 53 seconds.
Starting outside Newark-on-Trent the popular A25/34 course saw riders head out and back along the A46 down to the turn at the Strangglethorpe Interchange before making the return journey.
Duggleby maintained his unbeaten open time trial record this season which has seen him win by the National 100 and 50-mile Championships.
Veteran David Mead (Team Lutterworth Cycle Centre) won the Coventry CC 10 the previous week but had to settle for second on this occasion in 50-42.
Richard Oakes (Team Ohten Aveas) continued his good form for the season and took the final podium position a further 30 seconds back (51-12).
Spindata had predicted a victory for Duggleby in 48-18 but conditions meant that the top three were all slower than their forecasted times.
In perfect conditions the following day Duggleby set a lifetime personal best of 46-04 on his way to also winning the Manchester Bicycle Club 25.
Burrows led the women’s event recording an average speed of over 24.3 miles per hour to stop the clock in one hour, one minute and 35 seconds.
Jen Clegg (Team Bottrill) came home second in 1-05-13, while Gillian Campbell (Born to Bike - Bridgtown Cycles) finished third (1-11-15).
In the road bike category Alex Hardy (South Normanton CC) was quickest of the two entrants in 1-02-41, ahead of Kevin Humphreys (Sherwood CC) in second (1-10-23).
