Oliver Peckover (trainSharp) proved quickest at the Sherwood CC 10-mile time trial on Saturday, while fastest female was Diana Egerton-Warburton (Team Enable-MI Racing).
In a field stacked with strong riders Peckover took the win by 36 seconds from talented junior Finlay Tarling (Willebrord Wil Vooruit), while the final podium spot went to Leon Wright (Race Hub) in 19-42.
Another talented junior, Patrick Casey (Anexo Group RT) was fourth with 20-01, just 19 seconds away from the podium.
In the women’s category Egerton-Warburton clocked 24-09 to win by 34 seconds from Ratae RC’s Sally Maitland, with third spot going to Nottingham Clarion’s Elaine Simpson in 25-09.
This victory for Peckover was his fourth consecutive win of the season having also been fastest at the Leicestershire Road Club 27.2-mile event last month as well as the Melton Olympic 10 and Coalville Wheelers 10 back in February.
He is next due in action at the VTTA East Midlands 25 and Essex Roads CC 50 in early June as he prepares to tackle the National 50, 25 and 10-mile championships later in the year as well as the National road bike and closed circuit championships in October.
Egerton-Warburton placed second in her only other open time trial this season – the VTTA London and Home Counties 10 on May 7 near Tring. She heads to Wiltshire next weekend for the FTP Racing 25-mile time trial near Cricklade where she will be hoping to secure win number two for the year.
This event used the popular A10/3 course beginning near East Bridgford to the east of Nottingham. It heads up the A46, turns near Syerston, and heads back down to finish near Car Colston.
