Richard Bussell (AeroCoach) stormed to victory by over four minutes in the Droitwich Cycling Club 17, while Emma Bexson (Stratford Cycling Club) was the only woman competitor.
On his first open time trial outing of the season Bussell recorded a winning time of 35 minutes and five seconds over the 17-mile course.
The K22/17 saw riders start and finish in Great Witley before completing a loop around the Worcestershire countryside.
After a tough opening few miles heading away from Great Witley competitors headed south down the B4197 down to Martley and then turning towards Lower Broadheath.
Once crossing to Hallow competitors joined the A443 for the last seven miles including a final kick up to the finish at Great Witley.
The course consisted of the first half of next week’s Merlin Cycles Classic Series round three - Beacon Little Mountain Time Trial course.
Droitwich CC were hosting their first open time trial and despite a low turnout of riders a successful event was held.
Chilly conditions greeted riders at the start, but conditions were relatively calm with the sun breaking through the clouds in places.
Bussell won the Beacon Little Mountain Time Trial last season and showed his form ahead of next week’s event with a convincing victory – clocking an average speed of over 29 miles per hour.
Quickest veteran on scratch Simon Adcock (Team Echelon) led the fight behind taking second in 39-19, while Robbie Disney (Ludlow CC) was third (40-24).
Second veteran on scratch was Simon Garrett (Team Echelon) who stopped the clock in 42-08, while David Tucker (Cheltenham & County Cycling Club) was third in the age category (43-22).
In the women’s event Bexson was the only competitor and completed the course in a time of 49-16.
