Marc Anderson earned success for the host club while North Tyneside Riders’ Lois Jarvis was fastest woman at the GTR – Return To life 12-mile time trial in warm and dry conditions on Saturday afternoon.
Veteran rider Anderson set an unassailable time of 26 minutes and one second with Revolver Racing’s Harry Walker managing 27-08 to take second place and Peter Stokoe, of Reifen Racing, just 11 seconds back in third.
Jarvis headed up a strong contingent of entrants from North Tyneside Riders CC, winning the women’s event in 32-08 on a road bike, while clubmates Melanie Hall and Sarah Minto completed the podium in 3302 and 35-33 respectively.
On her victory, Jarvis said: “I’m really pleased to take the win today with a course persona best. This is probably my favourite short course in the district and I have been targeting a pb to end the season. It’s been great to be able to use the club time trial series on this course as practice.”
Elsewhere, fastest Junior was Ciaran Lally of Racing Metro 15 in 34-26, while Michael Sloanes of Velo Culture was the fastest rider on a road bike after completing the course in 28-39.
