Kieran Wynne-Cattanach triumphed as fastest male while Alison Dockney claimed the fastest female crown at the Cheshire Maverick CC Bakestonedale Road hill climb in Cheshire on Saturday afternoon.
Team Lifting Fear Products rider Wynne-Cattanach completed the 1.6-mile climb in just 5-31.5 to take victory ahead of Race Hub’s Leon Wright who finished in 5-41.8, while Wheelbase CabTech rider Andy Cunningham clinched third place in 5-50.2.
In the women’s event Dockney was in dominant form as the Macclesfield Wheelers rider finished 30.8 seconds ahead of nearest rival Bronwen Jenkinson in 7-09.6, with the Clwb Beicio Egni/Energy Cycling Club member second in 7-40.4 and the final podium spot going to Keri Parton (Team Boompods) in 7-53.4.
Wynne-Cattanach sealed victory in his first event of the season and his best result since winning the Velo Club Cumbria (Whinlatter) Hill Climb on October 2 2021.
This event, run on the J9/8 course, starts on Bakestonedale Road just north of Pott Shrigley and proceeds up the road to complete the 1.6-mile climb.
