Andrew Feather was fastest male at the Cheltenham & County Cycling Club climb of Bushcombe Lane near Bishop’s Cleve, with Illi Gardner taking honours in the women’s event.
A time of 3-57.1 helped HuntBikeWheels.com rider Feather take a third straight hill climb victory ahead of Cameron Biddle (Bikestrong-KTM) who clocked 4-10.5 to see off third-placed Ed Laverack in 4-13.9.
Gardner (Wahoo Endurance Zone p/b Le Col) was in fine form to set 4-38.4 with Elizabeth Sanders of Avid Sport next in 6-06.8 and Marie-Louise Kertzman, of Laka x Pedal Mafia Race Team, finishing in 6-27.4.
Former national champion Feather has produced a string of dominant displays this season, winning the Sid Valley CC hill climb up Peak Hill on September 11 before taking first place at Minehead Cycling Club’s Porlock Hill climb a week later, and will look to continue this form at the Velo Club Cumbria hill climb on October 1, followed by Fibrax Wrexham RC’s hill climb on October 2.
This hill climb, run on the UH73 course, starts at the lower section of Bushcombe Lane, 50m uphill from Aesop’s Orchard and continues uphill 0.76 miles to the finish.
