Adam Duggleby (Chapeau! Vive le Velo) went quickest in the Cleveland Coureurs 25-mile time trial, while Caroline Ratcliffe (Ferryhill Whs) was triumphant in the women’s event in North Yorkshire.
Duggleby justified his position as scratch-man with his eventual first placed finish. His 47:47 ride was the only time on the day sub 48 minutes.
Coming in with an impressive 48:38 new personal best was Ben Pease (Moonglu CC) to claim second & following that time to take third was Marcel Schubert (Darlington CC) who completed the 25 miles in 50:35.
The last time Duggleby didn’t win was in the National 10-mile Championships where he managed to secure a top 10 finish, the Leeds-based rider preparing for the Para-Cycling World Track Championships later this year.
In the women’s event it was Caroline Ratcliff that headed the field, completing the 25-mile course in 1:03:51.
Claiming second spot was Kat Handy (Valley Striders CC) who clocked a time of 1:04:44, while Sarah Foulds of Velo Culture finished third, her final time was 1:07:58.
Ratcliff had finished on the podium in one of her last three open events, narrowly missing out twice finishing both in the remaining two. This time the story could not have been any different as she was the quickest woman by nearly a full minute to claim her most recent victory. Next up is the Darlington CC 10 next month.
