Adam Duggleby

Adam Duggleby (Chapeau! Vive Le Velo) continued his impressive season with a seventh individual victory, while Karen Taylor (Team Sportslab) won the women’s event.

Duggleby, from Leeds, was the only rider to beat the 50-minute mark completing the course in 49 minutes and three seconds.

The 37-year-old also won both City Road Club Hull 25-mile events in recent months but his time on this outing was a season’s best.

The T252/3 course saw riders start and finish at Crathorne in North Yorkshire before heading out and back along the rolling A19 dual carriageway with some undulating sections down to Knayton before making the return journey.

A damp start to the day meant that conditions were overcast and cool for the early starters but the temperature rose and roads dried out as the morning developed.

Karen Taylor

Spindata had predicted a victory for Duggleby in 48-42, despite his time being 21 seconds slower the Yorkshire rider still took victory.

Ryan Hall (Adept Cycling) finished runner-up in the VTTA North/Cleveland Coureurs 10 on his last outing and finished second again on this occasion in 51-55.

The battle for third saw a three-way battle with quickest veteran on scratch Harry Walker (Revolver Racing) leading the way finishing in 53-33.

Under-23 rider Ben White (Manilla Cycling) narrowly missed out on a podium spot a further two seconds behind while Neil Cleminshaw (Chapeau! Vive Le Velo) was fifth (53-45).

The only junior rider was Will Trevor (Jem Hadar Racing) who recorded a finishing time of 1-00-53.

In the women’s event Taylor, from Baildon in West Yorkshire, was a convincing winner clocking a time of 1-01-56 which was a minute and 24 seconds clear of her nearest rival.

Taylor, who turns 56 this week, also won the Bramley Wheelers CC 10 in April and this was her second win of the season.

Fellow veteran Caroline Ratcliff (Ferryhill Whs)   finished second in 1-03-20 while Sarah Foulds (Velo Culture) completed the podium positions in third (1-04-09).
