Chris Gibbard (Bynea CC) was the winner of the Cardiff 100 miles RCC 10-mile time trial, while in the women’s event it was Diana Egerton-Warburton (Team Jewson) to claim top spot near Raglan.
Scratch-man Gibbard won the event in an impressive 18:44, the first of only two riders to complete the course in under 19 minutes.
Second was Ben Jones of Cycle Specific who rode a time of 18:53, and the final podium spot was claimed by Owen Burgess (UF Rowe & King) who finished in 19:36.
Last month was a busy one for Gibbard, having competed in the Welsh 50-mile Championship as well as the National 12-hour Championship, finishing third and tenth respectively.
Among the women Egerton-Warburton was fastest, riding a time of 22:51.
Second was Gemma Waterjohns (Somerset RC) who clocked in at 24:16 and completing the podium was Hilary Briggs (Serpentine RC) as she completed the R10/17 course in 24:34.
22:51 is a new 10-mile personal best for Egerton-Warburton, beating her previous best of 23:44.
In her last three 10-mile events prior to this she had finished on the podium in two of them, a second and a third. That now becomes each spot on the podium she has occupied as of late.
