Conrad Moss (Primera-Teamjobs) went quickest in the Welsh CA 50-mile time trial Championships, while Claire Hann (Bristol South CC) was the fastest in the women’s event near Abergavenny.
Moss completed the 50-mile ride in 1:40:00 flat, a time 50 seconds quicker than the closest competitor in a close-run top five.
1:40:50 was the time of next fastest rider Ben Jones (Cycle Specific), a minute and 24 seconds off the pace and finishing off the podium was Chris Gibbard (Bynea CC) as he clocked a final time of 1:42:14.
A memorable 2022 when it comes to time trial riding for newly-crowned Welsh 50 champion, Moss. He has won every open event that he has participated in 2022 so little surprise that run of form did not come to an end during this event as he adds another accolade to his ever-growing list.
In the women’s event it was Claire Hann to head the field, finishing the R50/1B course in 1:57:57.
Emma Wyatt of Hereford & Distict Wheelers was next up, clocking a time of 2:04:48 to secure second. To complete the podium Lindsey Lyes (The Ark Cycles) rode a time of 2:10:04.
Following on from last year where she won also, she came back to defend this year in her first open event since that Championship ride last time out. She is not yet scheduled to ride again this year.
