Richard Oakes (Team Ohten Aveas) was the quickest man in the Ross-on-Wye CC 10-mile time trial, while Joanne Jago (Performance Cycles CC) was the winner in the women’s event in Monmouthshire.
Veteran Oakes headed the field in 19:02, a time that saw him finish over 25 seconds quicker than any other participant. His nearest rival was Christopher Gibbard (Bynea CC) who clocked 19:28 and following that time to take the final podium position was Oliver Bridgewood (Bath CC) as he rode a time of 19:55.
Oakes had won his two events prior to this, both also over 10 miles. Most recently at the start of this month at the East Anglian 10 and previously the ECCA 10 in which he rode 18:52 to win the Championships.
His next event is scheduled to be the VTTA London 10 next weekend where he will look to go for four straight victories.
In the women’s event it was Joanne Jago that came out on top, completing the R10/17 course in 23:50.
The top three women were split by only six seconds, in second place was Bethan Ouseley (Pembrokeshire Velo) clocking 23:52 and in the final podium spot was Diana Egerton-Warburton (Team Jewson) as she finished in 23:56.
Coming into this event Jago had three consecutive podium finishes, all of which being second place. The most recent of those was at the Chippenham & District 25. That form came to a head over this event as she was able to push for the victory and come out victorious.
The team award was won by Team Jewson who had a combined time of 1:05:54 between Diana Egerton-Warburton, Simon Law and Mark Wise.
