Nick Partridge ensured a victory for the promoting club as fastest male while Denise Hurren was quickest female at the V.C. Baracchi 50-mile time trial on Sunday morning.
Partridge set a time of one hour 51 minutes and 20 seconds to win the event, which incorporated the East District Championship 50.
Chasing him home was Team Velocity’s Daniel Bloy who finished runner-up in 1:53.50 while David Ackerley (Team JMC) took third spot after recording 1:54.11.
In the women’s event, Hurren (Sole Bay Cycle Sport) posted a winning time of two hours, four minutes and 12 seconds to edge out Emma Toole by 18 seconds, with the Nopinz Motip Race Team rider setting 2:04.30 and Great Yarmouth CC’s Kerstin Langer finishing third in 2:17.23.
It was a good day for the promoting club V.C Baracchi as they also secured the team prize thanks to Patridge alongside Mark Saunders and Chris Womack.
This event, on the B50/17 course, starts just east of Harleston and heads northeastwards, passing through Wortwell, Homersfield, Farsham, Bungay and Kirby Cane before encircling the Needham roundabout and retracing the back to the start, retracing to the Stockton roundabout before repeating that circuit and finishing opposite Church Lane just north of the start.
