Swindon Wheelers enjoyed double success with Matt Boulton fastest male and Jo Spencer quickest female at the PDQ Cycle Coaching 10-mile time trial in Gloucestershire on Saturday.
Veteran Boulton clocked 20 minutes and 52 seconds to ensure a dominant victory with Matthew Chapple (Chippenham & District Wheelers) second in 23-34, and Ride 24/7’s Gavin Lancaster completing the podium in a time of 22-46.
In the women’s event, Boulton’s club-mate Spencer won in 24-16, comfortably ahead of Team Echelon’s Arja Scarsbrook in 26-36 who took second place.
In the tandem category, Peter Oliver and Christopher Edgington, of ZeroBC Race Team, finished in 21-16 to ensure victory.
The 40-year-old Boulton claimed his first victory of the season, having taken second place at the Tetbury Velos 10-mile time trial on July 31 as well as claiming fourth at the FTP Racing 25-mile time trial on May 22.
The event, on course U48, begins just south of Driffield Junction and heads southeasterly on Cirencester Road, then onto The Street past Latton before encircling the roundabout by Cricklade North Meadow and retracing the route to finish just south of the Spine Road roundabout.
