Jake Sargent (FTP Racing Team) was the fastest man in the Dursley RC 10-mile time trial, while Alex Morrice (University of Bath CC) was the quickest rider in the women’s event in Gloucestershire on Saturday morning.
Sargent went off as the scratch man and finished his ride as the only rider to complete the ten miles in less than 20 minutes, clocking 19-54
Second place was Daniel Capel-Smith (University of Bath CC) who clocked in a minute behind at 20:53, while Tom Biggs of the Cheltenham & County CC claimed the final podium spot with a time of 21:07.
Sargent had competed in four events prior to this in 2022, finishing fastest in all four of those, extending his victory streak to five here.
In the women’s event it was espoir rider Alex Morrice that recorded the fastest time, 22:54 being the winning ride.
Second spot went to Mary-Jane Hutchinson (Bristol South CC) who completed the course in 33:16, which happened to be the final available podium spot for the women as only two started.
Morrice had participated in three open events this season, only failing to finish in the top three once.
She was fastest in the Kingston Wheelers 14 and was second fastest in the FTP Racing 10, both of which occurred last month. Taking fastest in this event she is now on a hot streak, being fastest in her last two events.
