George Skinner beat his Primera-Teamjobs team-mate by a single second to win the Bournemouth Arrow 10, while Lilly Chant (Southampton University Road Cycling Club) was a more comfortable winner in the women’s event.
Skinner was pushed all the way by Samuel Wadsley with just a second separating the Primera-Teamjobs riders.
Skinner, aged 24, clocked a winning time of 20 minutes and 58 seconds for his first open time trial victory of the season.
The P311 saw riders start at Ringswood before heading out and back along the B3347 down to Sopley before making the return journey.
Riders were treated to a sunny morning with a light wind and a temperate of between 12 and 14 degrees Celsius.
Skinner finished fourth in the Velo Club Venta 10 the previous week on his only other outing this season but went almost two minutes quicker this time out to clinch victory.
Meanwhile, Wadsley was on his first open time trial outing of the season and had to settle for second in 20-59.
Behind two veterans battled out the remaining podium position with Bryce Dyer (Bournemouth Cycleworks - Vitec Fire - Ford Civil – Trek) taking second in 21-28 which was just 15 seconds faster than Steven Pink (Poole Wheelers Cycling Club) (21-43).
In the women’s event Chant, from Southampton, took a clear victory clocking a winning time of 22-45.
The 22-year-old took her first open time trial victory in just her second event.
Veteran Emma Caplan (Bournemouth Jubilee Whs) led the chase behind taking second in 25-03 while Charly Helyar (Wellington Wheelers Cycling Club) completed the podium positions (26-14).
Robert and Molly Haycock (Bournemouth Arrow CC) were the only tandem pairing completing the course in 27-57.
In the road bike category Luke Walton (North Hampshire RC) took the men’s victory recording a winning time of 22-39.
Veteran Dave Bent (GS Stella) finished second in 23-11 which was 27 seconds faster than Malcolm Cox (Velo Club St Raphael) in third (23-38).
Emma O’Toole (Districts of Hamwic Cyclesport) was the quickest woman with a fine ride of 24-52 which was good enough for fifth road bike overall.
Jennifer Lemen (PDQ Cycle Coaching) was second woman in 25-40 while veteran Janine Pattison (Poole Wheelers Cycling Club) was third (29-04).
