Pip Jenkins was fastest female while Matthew Woods was crowned fastest male at the East Sussex Cycling Association 25-mile time trial on Sunday morning.
An impressive time of 1-01-16 earned Jenkins a dominant victory ahead of 1904RT team-mate Gemma Hayes who finished in 1-08-44, while Eastbourne Rovers’ Anita Turner completed the podium in 1-11-41.
Turners’ club-mate Woods was winner of the men’s event, clocking 53-27 while runner-up Chris Jones (Bynea Cycling Club) set 54.51 to beat trainSharp’s Nathan Russell into third place in 55-38.
Woods has his first victory of the season, having previously claimed third place at the East Sussex CA 10-mile time trial on September 10 and at the 50-mile East Sussex CA time trial on June 12.
This event, run on the G25/89 course, starts just south of Lampool roundabout and proceeds southbound, turning southwest onto the A22 and winding past Uckfield, Ridgeworth and Halland.
It then goes through East Hoathy and Whitesmith, turning slightly southeast through Golden Cross and then encircling the roundabout on the Hailsham roundabout and retracing the route back towards the start.
