Christopher McNamara (Nuun-Sigma Sport-London RT) was the quickest man in the East Sussex CA 10-mile time trial, while Pip Jenkins (1904RT) was the winner in the women’s event.
One half of the McNamara twins, Christopher got the better of Simon with a ride that saw him complete the 10-mile course 59 seconds quicker in 19-16.
Simon McNamara’s (HuntBikeWheels.com) 20:15 secured him second position, while taking the final podium position was Matthew Woods (Eastbourne Rovers CC) who clocked in at 21:08.
This marked a third consecutive win for in-form McNamara who has won over a dozen open events over the course of this season. His most recent prior to this coming in the Charlotteville CC 10, while next up is the Cambridge CC 25 that takes place this weekend also.
In the women’s event it was Pip Jenkins who came out on top, completing the G10/87 course in 24:10.
Second was Alice Connor (Team TMC) who was just over two minutes off the pace as she clocked a time of 26:38. Anita Turner of Eastbourne Rovers CC was the rider to complete the podium, completing the course in 28:38.
Following the National 100-mile Championship, Jenkins has won two of three open events she has participated in. Her most recent outing was the East Sussex CA 25 where she picked up one of those wins.
The vet on standard awards went to McNamara with a +7:20 and Anita Turner with a +1:15.
