Zeb Kyffin broke the men’s course record while Jennifer Fernando was the fastest female at the Paceline 15.8-mile time trial in Surrey on Saturday morning.
Ribble Weldtite Pro Cycling’s Kyffin, 24, took 1-05 off the existing record to set a time of 32-14, ahead of Paul Burton from host club Paceline RT who clocked 33-49, while third place was secured by Mark Smith (Crawley Wheelers) in 34-22.
Fernando, riding for Total Tri Training, finished as fastest woman in 46-29, while Wakefield Triathlon Club’s Rosemary Fernando was second in 48-48 and Teresa Goddard (Kingston Wheelers Club) recorded 50-29 for third place.
Danylo Riwnyj (trainSharp Development Team) was the fastest in the road bike category in 35-45, with Milo Purvis’ time of 36-37 enough for the Paceline RT rider to take second and Brixton Cycles Club member James Haworth in third after recording 37-45 on the course.
The GS/483 course starts in Spook Hill, North Holmwood, before heading south towards Breare Green then reaching Clark’s Green and proceeding to Mole Valley and heading north towards Newdigate, then finishing near the entrance to North Holmwood Sports Club.
