Ross Howcroft-Jones was fastest male while Alison Dockney claimed the women’s prize at the Buxton CC/Sett Valley Cycles one-mile Bunsal Cob Hill Climb on Saturday morning.
Rapha Cycling Club’s Howcroft-Jones completed the climb in just 4-42.1 to take victory ahead of Alex Raynard (Velo Bavarian) who was five seconds back in 4-47.1, with the final podium place awarded to Team Lifting Gear Products rider Chris Dyke who completed the course in 4-50.3.
In the women’s event, Dockney, riding for Macclesfield Wheelers, earned a dominant win in 6-28.1, 23 seconds ahead of Datalynx-Parenesis Cycling’s Nicola Soden who clocked 6-51.2, with promoting club rider Liz Batt taking third place in 7-12.5.
Elsewhere, fastest Junior/Juvenile went to Jacob Bradbury (Manchester Wheelers) in 5-24.6, with Timothy Lane (JRC Interflon Race Team) second in 5-51.1, and Reuben Corlett (Birkenhead North End CC) third in 5-54.9.
This event, run on the J9/17 course, starts at Errwood Reservoir, proceeds along Goyt Road towards Long Hill, to finish 50 yards short of Long Hill, Buxton and is one mile in length.
