Simon Wilson was fastest male while Sarah Lewthwaite was quickest female at the Yorkshire Cycling Federation 25-mile time trial on Saturday afternoon.
Ribble Weldtite Pro Cycling rider Wilson set a winning time of 49 minues and eight seconds which was nearly two minutes faster than his rivals.
Adam Duggleby, of Chapeau! Vive Le Velo, has won a host of events this season but was confortably beaten into second clocking 50-57, while the final podium place went to Norwood Paragon’s Andy Critchlow in 53-26, just a second ahead of Duggleby’s clubmate Darren Yarwood.
Elsewhere, Russ Richardson of Teesdale CRC finished in 58-00 but was first veteran on standard in +14-25, with Critchlow fastest veteran on standard in the 40-49 category after registering +14-05.
In the 50-59 category, Mike Furby of Valley Striders CC finished top in +8-23 while a standard time of +6-48 was enough for Mike Cole to win the 60 plus section.
In the women’s event, Lewthwaite, riding for Born To Bike, clocked a winning time of one hour, one minute and 30 seconds.
She finished ahead of Otley CC’s Helen Goldthorpe in 01-15-31 with a time of 01-22-08 helping North Lancashire RC’s Jan Scotchford to take third place.
Goldthorpe did secure first place on standard in +7-30, while in the open 25 mile non-aero tiem trial, Simon Butteris of Ely & Distrcit CC, won in 58-10
This event, run on the V235 course, starts south of Boroughbridge and proceeds along the A168 south through Allerton Park Interchange to Walshford traffic island, before encircling the island and returning north on the A168 past the start to Boroughbridge, then retracing southbound again to Walshford traffic island, turning north and finishing just south of Arkendale Road.
