Darren Yarwood set a course record as fastest male while Ellen Messingham finished as fastest female at the 19.6-mile Yorkshire Clarion CC time trial on Saturday afternoon.
Chapeau! Vive Le Velo rider Yarwood set the fastest ever time on the V461 course of 45-00, to finish almost three minutes ahead of Melvin Blackford (Vive Le Velo) who managed 47-47 while team-mate Andrew Askwith was third in 49-49.
In the women’s event, Barracuda Tri club rider Messingham produced a dominant ride to win in 58-46, with Angela Symonds, from the promoting club, clocking 01-14-00 in her first-ever time trial.
The 13-strong starting field enjoyed dry conditions and a moderate north-Easterly wind in North Yorkshire, with Nick Oehring recording a time of 50-18 to finish as the fastest senior rider.
The 19.6-mile route, on course V461, starts near Boynton and heads north to Grindale, then west through Burton Fleming, Wold Newton to Foxholes, left onto the B1249 to Octon roundabout, then left onto the B1253 through Rudston and finishing just short of Boynton Village.
