Nic Fennell and Fiona Howarth took the honours as fastest male and fastest female respectively at the VTTA Kent 10-mile time trial on Sunday morning.
In the men’s event, Fennell (Thanet RC) came home in 20-07 with clubmate Paul Burrows and VeloRefined Rule 5 rider Mark Hill finishing level on 21-24 in joint second.
Howarth, of VC Deal, sealed victory in the women’s event with a ride of 27-52, ahead of Southborough & District Wheelers’ Natasha Jarman.
With victory, Fennell made it two wins from two across the weekend, having triumphed at the CC Bexley 10-mile time trial on Saturday.
The 29-year-old now has three wins from six completed rides this season, also taking first place at the Medway Velo Club 25-mile time trial on May 22, to back up three consecutive runners-up spots at Medway Velo Club 10 on May 14, the VTTA 24.7 on April 24 and Kent CA 25-mile time trial on April 17.
This event, run on the Q10/30 course, starts on May Street and proceeds along the service road to join the A299 and continue to St. Nicholas then onto Monkton, before turning and retracing along the A299 and finishing west of the Roman Galley pub.
