Pip Jenkins finished as fastest female while Nic Fennell was fastest male at the Medway Velo 25-mile time trial in Kent on Sunday morning.
Jenkins (1904RT) completed the course in 1-00-42 for a dominant victory ahead of Lewes Wanderers rider Kate Thomas in 1-01-31, while a time of 1-12-32 helped Natasha Jarman (Southborough & District Wheelers) into third place.
In the men’s event Fennell produced an emphatic display to finish in 51-36 and beat Thanet RC team-mate Paul Burrows by 2-17, with VeloRefined Rule 5’s Mark Hill third in 54-57.
The 31-strong field enjoyed sunny conditions with very little wind on the course.
Fennell managed his first top placing since the VTTA (Kent group) event in October last year, having finished second at the Kent CA 10-mile time trial on April 3, second again at the Kent CA 25-mile time trial on April 17, and further two runners-up spots at the VTTA 24.7-mile TT on April 24 and Medway Velo Club 10-mile TT on May 14.
The Q25/12 course was used which starts near Old Romney on the A259 with riders joining the A259 and proceeding to Brenzett roundabout, turning left towards the Brookland roundabout then heading onto the A2070 passing straight through Bridgefield.
They then head through Cloverleaf roundabout, taking the second exit to join A2042 and turning at Kingsnorth 2 roundabout, rejoining A2042 and then to Cloverleaf, the first exit to pass through Bridgefield and Brenzett before finishing adjacent to Prospect Bungalow.
