National 10-mile champion Christopher Fennell (The Independent Pedaler - Nopinz) was fastest at the Medway Velo Club 10-mile time trial near the Isle of Grain in Kent, while Debbie Percival (Kent Velo Girls/Boys) was the quickest woman.
Nearly 30 seconds quicker than anybody else on the day, Fennell was the only rider to go under 20 minutes, completing the Q10/24 course in 19:28 to beat his brother Nicholas Fennell (Thanet RC) by one minute.
Taking the final podium position was Stefan Gloyn (Army Cycling) he completed the course in 20:55.
The National Champion over 10 and 50 miles, Chris Fennell has won all three of his 2022 events so far, and is targeting the National 25 in June having finished second in last year’s event.
In the women’s event it was 60-year-old Debbie Percival who finished as fastest woman, riding a 27:16 which was 15 seconds better than runner-up Sally Smith (Medway Velo) with 27-31 on a road bike, while Martina Ben-Shaul (Dulwich Paragon CC) was another 4-24 back and third female.
The event used the Q10/24 from Grain to Fenn Corner and back.
In other categories Sally Smith (Medway Velo) was quickest woman on a road bike with 27-31 which saw her finish as second fastest female overall.
Top male on a road bike was Gemini BC’s Huseyin Vardal with 22-32 for 13th overall, while top veteran on age standard was Mark Hill (VeloRefined Rule 5) with 21-56 for an age plus of 5-16.
