Kieran Wynne-Cattanach (Team Lifting Gear Products) claimed top spot in the North Lancashire Road Club’s Nick ‘O’ Pendle hill climb, while Laura Tring (ABC Centreville) was the winner in the women’s event.
Wynne-Cattanach finished 20 seconds quicker than Spindata had predicted, clocking a time of 3:32.0 to win comfortably.
Andy Cunningham (Wheelbase Cabtech Castelli) came second, riding a final time of 3:48.1 while Chris Mann (Velotik RT) finished off the podium with a time of 3:57.4.
This marks a third consecutive win for Wynne-Cattanach who will look to cap off a fine season with a top end finish in the National Hill Climb Championship that takes place next weekend. He finished seventh last year.
In the women’s event it was Laura Tring that was the quickest, 5:39.6 being the final time attributed to her.
Caroline Scholes (Chorley CC) claimed second place after she finished in 7:01.4. Following her time was Sue Cheetham (North Lancashire RC) who completed the course in 7:10.4.
The fastest junior in the event was Tom Booth of 360 Cycling, he clocked a time of 4:29.3, the fastest juvenile was Charlie Brennan of Sportcity Velo, his final time was 4:36.7.
Mark Jones (Bury Clarion) was the fastest over-40 veteran (5:13.5), Andrew Askwith (Viva le Velo) was fastest over-50 (5:03.7) and the fastest over-60 rider was Michael Stanley of North Wirral Velo as he clocked 5:41.7.
The fastest team was awarded to 360 Cycling, their top three riders were Tom Booth (4:29.3), Davey Allanson (5:31.5) and George Leeson (5:42.4).
