Team Bottrill’s Tom Hutchinson and Anna Weaver (Team Kirkley Cycles) took victories at the East Lancashire Road Club 10-mile time trial in Cumbria on Saturday evening.

Hutchinson, the 26-year-old from Gateshead, clocked 18-42 to win by 20 seconds on the L1015 Levens course. That gave him the win over David Ashton (Army Cycling) with third going to Chris Humphries (Bioracer UK) in third, another eight seconds slower.

Team Kirkley Cycles’ Anna Weaver, 37, was quickest of the women riding. Her time of 21-46 gave her victory by 22 seconds from Deborah Moss (Springfield Financial Race Team) with third fastest female being Joanna Cebrat (Bury Clarion) with 22-44.

The event used the popular L1015 course which begins near Levens on the A590 and heads west to just near Lindale, where riders turn back along the same road.

This was Hutchinson’s first open time trial of the season so far, according to his CTT record. He finished off last season on a high with victory in the Burton and District CA 100, while he was sixth in the 2021 National 50-Mile Championships and third in the National 12-Hour Championships.

Weaver has been more active in 2022, and this was her seventh appearance in an open event in 2022.

So far this season she has victories in the Merlin Cycles Classic Series round two and the Team Kirkley Cycles 10 last month, while she was also victorious in the Manchester and District TTA 10 in March as well as second in the North Lancs RC hilly 30 and fifth in the National Road Bike Championships.

She is next expected to be in action in the National Team Time Trial Championships on May 22, as well as the Vector Racing 25 next month.
