Richard Bideau (Pendle Forest CC) took the top spot in the West Pennine RC 14.6-mile time trial near Longridge, while Louise Scupham (Jadan Vive Le Velo) was the fastest in the women’s event.
51-year-old Bideau finished in the fastest time over the L142 course in a time of 33:01, a whole two minutes quicker than his competition.
33:45 was the second quickest time of the day which came from Patrick Casey (Cambridge CC), while third was Chris Booth (Giant-Kendal-Sides) with 34:39.
The form continued for Bideau who had participated in two open events leading up this one, finishing on the podium both with a win and a third place finish.
In the women’s event it was Scupham who came out on top, she clocked a time of 39:59 and took the prize as the only female to compete.
Best over-40 veteran was Richard Noble (Infinity Cycles RC) who completed the course in 34:54. Top over-50 was Fraser Snape (North Lancashire RC) in a time of 37:13.
Fastest over-60 rider was Andrew Barlow (Kent Valley RC), in 39:21, while the quickest over-70 was Peter Greenwood (Clayton Velo) who clocked in at 39:17 to claim the final veteran category prize.
The fastest team of three was the trio from Tactic Sport UK Race Team of Craig Battersby, Bryn Lawrence and Thomas Hanlon.
