Paul Pardoe was fastest at the Eastern Counties Cycling Association 25-mile time trial in Cambridgeshire on Saturday morning, with Jan Ertner first on handicap.

Peterborough CC rider Pardoe clocked 53-15 to secure a dominant win ahead of Richard Harrison (DRAG2ZERO) in 56-24, while Cambridge CC’s Robert Watson completed the podium in 58-16.

Watson’s clubmate Ertner took first on handicap in an adjusted time of 38-54, with Pardoe runner-up in 44-43 and Loose Cannon’s Conditioning rider Mark Careless third on 45-09.

Prizes also went to Bedfordshire Road RT’s Grant Orsborn and Deborah Beare of Icknield RC for winning the two-up event in 1-00-39 while Hitchin Nomads pair Patrick Allen and Mike Levet took second in 1-01-27.

This event, run on the E33/25 course, consists of two laps of a circuit on a mixture of single-carriageway A roads and unclassified roads, and starts on the A1303 towards Cambridge, taking a left at Dunsley Corner and following the lane to Six Mile Bottom.

Riders then turn towards Newmarket and passing the start point to complete the first circuit and proceeding to complete a second circuit and finish just south of Stetchworth roundabout.
