Piotr Zulawski was fastest male while Sue Triplow was the quickest female at the Victoria CC 10.2-mile time trial on Saturday morning.
Didcot Phoenix CC rider Zulawski clocked 20 minutes and 51 seconds on his way to victory ahead of William Taylor (GFTL) in 21-15, and Chelmer CC’s David Harding a further 31 seconds back to claim third in 21-46.
Triplow, riding for CC Sudbury, won the women’s event in 26-04 ahead of Julia Freeman (Easterley Road Club) registered 26-48 while Claire Lee’s 27-29 was enough for the Glendene CC rider to take third and 20-year-old Megan Free, of West Suffolk Wheelers, was fourth in 28-35.
The 2-up time trial event saw Paul Turton (Team Vision Racing – Silverhook) and Louise Robinson (Essex Roads CC) win in 22-42, while Ian Short, of Team Salesengine.co.uk, and Ann Shuttleworth, of Cambridge CC, clocked 24-06 to take second place with Newmarket Cycling & Triathlon Club pair Linda Hones and Kerry Tate finishing third in 26-56.
All riders donated their winnings to charity with the total funds raised for Haven House children's hospice from this event was £161, making a total of £511 from three events.
This event, run on the E1/10A course, starts on the B1383 just west of Saffron Walden and proceeds north through Littlebury and Great Chesterford, turning at the roundabout at junction of B1383/A1301 and then retracing along the B1383 through Great Chesterford and Littlebury and finishing 50 yards south of the start line.
