Chris Holmes secured victory as fastest male while Rosie Simmons was fastest female at the Leo 30-mile time trial in Cambridgeshire on Saturday afternoon.
VC Norwich rider Holmes set an unbeaten time of 1-05-44 to clinch the win ahead of Sam McDonald (St Neots CC) who clocked 1-06-29 to narrowly beat Stuart Hourigan by 10 seconds, with the VeloRefined Rule 5 member finishing in 1-06-39.
In the women’s event, Simmons was a dominant winner with her time of 1-20-00 putting her nine minutes ahead of runner-up Amy Sole, whose time of 1-29-53 secured second place and Elspeth Knott (Colchester Rover CC) taking third in 1-33-19.
This event, run on the E33/30 route, sees riders complete two-and-a-third laps of a triangular course, starts just north of Westley Bottom and proceeds north on the A1304 to the Stetchworth Roundabout, before heading westbound past Nine Mile Hill and Bottisham before turning southeasterly beyond Little Wilbraham and turning north at Six Mile Bottom.
Riders then pass the start to complete one lap before completing a second circuit before reaching the Stetchworth Roundabout and retracing the leg back to the finish.
