James Jenkins and Gillian Leech took the honours as fastest male and fastest female riders respectively at the Eastern Counties CA 15-mile time trial in Essex on Friday morning.
A time of 30-33 helped Jenkins, from Richardsons-Trek RT, to victory ahead of Jonny Allan (6AM Cycling) in 31-21 and Team Vision Racing – Silverhook rider Paul Turton took third place in 32-26, while the fastest handicapped time went to Shaftesbury CC veteran Andrew Wenham in 21-32.
Leech (Loose Cannon's Conditioning) finished in 37-45 with Bishop's Stortford CC’s Emily Knight just 10 seconds back and Karen Aylen (Maldon & District CC) completing the course in 38-26.
The 15-mile time trial, on course E91/15, starts on B184 by Leaden Roding with the field of 29 riders proceeding to the roundabout and joining A1060 until the roundabout at Lordship Road, Writtle, where they will turn and retrace the route to Leaden Roding before continue to the finish near Rectory Corner.
