Grant Bigham (Wattshop) finished over two minutes clear of his nearest rival as he charged to victory at the North Shropshire Wheelers 25, while Deb Hutson-Lumb (Wrekinsport CC) was a clear women’s winner. 

Bigham, aged 32, posted a winning time of 50 minutes and 32 seconds as he clinched a fifth victory of the season. 

The D25/23T saw competitors start and finish near Tern Hill in Shropshire before heading southwards starting on the A53 before turning onto the A442 down to Shawbirch and then making the return journey. 

Bigham has also won this season the SCCA 10, Kent Valley RC 10 and WCTTA & SCCA 30. He continued his fine form for the season on this occasion with another win. 

Scratch rider David Griffiths (Holohan Coaching Team) had to settle for second this time out stopping the clock in 52-41. 

Completing the podium positions was Jamie Fletcher (Fibrax Wrexham RC) posting a time of 54-22. 

The best team was Wrekinsport CC while the fastest juvenile rider was Chester Romei (North Shropshire Wheelers) in 1-01-48. 

In the women’s event Hutson-Lumb took a clear victory clocking a time of one hour and 28 seconds which was over six minutes clear of her nearest challenger. 

Hutson-Lumb failed to finish the Fibrax Wrexham RC 25 last week but had no such problems on this occasion adding another win to her collection. 

The Wrekinsport rider was also the best veteran on standard for the event. 

Helen Tudor (Oswestry Paragons CC) finished second in 1-06-38 while Victoria Doran (Wrekinsport CC) completed the podium positions in third (1-13-28).
