Ben Lloyd and Emma Tilston were fastest male and fastest female respectively at the West Cheshire TTCA 10 in Shropshire on Sunday morning.
Competing for Fibrax Wrexham RC, Lloyd produced an impressive ride of 20-24 to finish ahead of Velotik Racing Team’s David James Williams who finished in 20-52, while a time of 21-58 was enough for Nill Kenyon (Chester RC) to secure third place.
There was more success for Chester RC thanks to Tilston’s time of 28-59 securing the fastest female prize ahead of Wrekinsport CC’s Claire O’Donnell who took second in 33-08.
After finishing fourth at Frodsham Wheelers 22-mile time trial on his opening ride of the season on March 19, Lloyd has now followed up victory in the Birkenhead North End CC 22-mile time trial with another success.
Lloyd will now be hoping this acts as perfect preparation for the 25-mile Chester Road Club time trial on May 29 and the National 25-mile Championships on June 12.
The route, on course C10/28, starts at stop line near the 'Ellerdine & Rowton' signpost north of Waters Upton, proceeds north along the A442 to Espley Island (Hodnet) for 5.15 miles, then encircles the island and retraces the course to the finish line near Sytch Lane.
