Tom Parsons (Team Jewson) claimed the top spot in the Team Sheffield hill climb, while Millie Skinner (Pro-Noctis - Redchilli Bikes) was the winner of the women’s event.
Parsons clocked a time of one minute and 52.8 seconds to come out on top of a tightly contested ride.
Just a couple seconds later was Nicholas Latimer (Team Lifting Gear Products) as he clocked a 1:55.5 to finish in second spot in the early hill climbing season test.
Taking third was Ryan Williams, of Beeston CC, who came in at 1:56.6, with just four seconds separating the top three riders.
Parsons is a prolific hill climb rider, having many on his resume, the most recent of which prior to this being the Matlock CC HC where he finished second. However, he beat that result today. He is next scheduled to compete in the Sitwell CC hill climb.
In the women’s event it was Skinner who was the quickest completing the climb in two minutes and 31.5 seconds.
Abbie Pearse (SUMMAT CC) completed the course in 2:54.3 to secure second and finishing third on the night was Sarah Harrison (Sheffield Triathlon Club) whose time was 3:03.4.
This was only the first open event of the year for Skinner, therefore being her first podium finish and even better, her first win. She is not yet scheduled to ride another open event this season.
