Challenging conditions didn't stop a storming ride from junior Patrick Casey in 48:55 who took home the Mick Oldnall Trophy for fastest rider, while top female was Kate Kirkland (RAMcc).
The ANDCC Lighthouse Trophy was retained by Sherwood CC by default due to the decline in viable Nottingham and District clubs taken part in the event.
Ilkeston CC fielded a decent team who, had they been eligible, would have pummelled Sherwood into the ground this year as two of Sherwood's golden riders were competing in the UCI Worlds in Italy.
The ANDCC Lighthouse Trophy was always traditionally run on the A25/2 sporting course at Granby, so the decision was taken to run it on the A25/34 this year in an attempt to elicit more teams of five entries from local clubs but still they didn't come out of the woodwork. So the task falls again to Sherwood CC to run the event again next year which is one of the stipulations of winning.
The conditions didn't appear to effect all riders with 28 riders recording PBs - over a third of the field. Whilst other riders were just not able to squeeze a PB performance out in the conditions.
No prizes were awarded for fastest male or female riders instead opting for a randomised groups of 8 riders spreading the prize money across fastest in 10 separate categories relying more on form improvements than outright fastest and thus giving a chance to riders who may never have won a prize before.
Two riders who have never ridden a time trial before ended up fastest in the slowest two categories.
