Roger Cutler (Beacon Roads CC) was the fastest in the Stratford CC 10-mile time trial in Warwickshire, while Denise Burrows (AeroCoach) was quickest in the women’s event.
39-year-old Cutler completed the K10/10 course near Princethorpe in 20:48 to come out on top in his first open ride of the season.
Just ten seconds off the pace was Simon Law (Team Jewson) who clocked in at 20:58 to take second place, while scratch man Dean Callister (Revolutions Racing) completed the distance in 21:12 to close out the podium.
In the women’s event it was Denise Burrows to finish fastest, clocking a time of 23:53 which was more than 20 seconds faster than the second placed woman.
Alison Forvargue (Team Empella) completed the course in 24:19, while Diana Egerton-Warburton (Team Jewson) was just 11 seconds behind, with a time of 24:30 to take the final podium spot.
Burrows had competed in one open event prior to this, the VTTA Midlands 15, where she finished just outside of the podium spots in fourth, not a bad start to the season but she will be delighted with a victory here to push a run of form.
The K10/10 course begins near Princethorpe, on Rugby Road where riders are directed east before heading north at the A45. They are to turn back towards the start at the A423 on Oxford Road and ride through Princethorpe before finishing just short of Marton.
