Jacob Bush

Juvenile rider Jacob Bush (Bourne Wheelers) recorded a new course record in the LRRA (Lincolnshire Wheelers 10), while Madeleine Gammons (Jadan CycleSpace) took victory in the women’s event.

Sixteen-year-old Bush recorded a season best time despite damp conditions to win in 19 minutes and 49 seconds.

Bush won the National Circuit Championships in the junior category last season and added his victory to the Bourne Wheelers 10 earlier this month.

The LRRA (Lincolnshire Wheelers 10) event saw riders start from Ingham before heading north on the B1398 towards the Harpswell roundabout and then making the return journey.

Senior rider Jack Levick (Rose Race Team) finished second to Bush in the Bourne Wheelers 10 and had to settle for the same result clocking 20-11 on this occasion.

Junior rider Alex Galpin (Bourne Wheelers) was in a close battle for the podium positions eventually finishing third in 20-13 just two seconds behind Levick while under-23 rider Bevan Jones  (Team Sportslab) finished fourth (20-15).

Quickest veteran on scratch was Chris Ward (Spalding CC) in 21-14 just three seconds faster than Keith Ainsworth (Sheffrec CC) in 21-17 while Andy Thomas (Lindsey Roads CC) was third (21-28).

Meanwhile, para-cyclist Mark Staples (VC Veldrijden) clocked a time of 24-26.

In the women’s event under-23 rider Madeleine Gammons (Jadan CycleSpace) added another victory to her collection.

Gammons has won the Matlock CC 10 and Melton Olympic CC 10 already this season and clocked 23-07 to take her third win.

Quickest veteran Sarah Lewthwaite (Team Sportslab) took the battle to her younger opponent but fell just 17 seconds short finishing second in 23-24.

Meanwhile, Jo Tindley (CAMS Racing) finished third in 24.07.
