Jack Allison (G.S. Henley) and Rose Willis (St Austell Whs CC) were clear victors in the men’s and women’s events at the City Cycle Couriers RT 10.
On his first open outing in almost two years Allison covered the course at an average speed of over 29.8 miles per hour to set a winning time of 20 minutes and seven seconds.
The S3/10 saw riders start outside Ivybridge on the slip road to the A38 before turning near South Brent and making the return journey.
The finish leg saw riders leave the A38 before stopping the clock on Ermington Road.
Allison took his first ever open victory with his previous best coming during 2019 with a third place finish in the City Cycle Couriers RT 10 event on the S4/10 course.
A close battle behind saw four riders separated by just five seconds in the fight for the remaining podium positions.
Ben Jones (Portishead Cycling Club) was fastest taking second in 21-48 which was just a single second quicker than quickest veteran on scratch Andrew Parnowski (City Cycle Couriers RT) (21-49).
Second veteran on scratch was Lubos Obornik (CS Dynamo) who finished in 21-51 while fellow veteran Peter Norris (Cycle Sport South Hams) clocked 21-53.
Quickest junior was Sam Beaton (Plymouth Corinthian CC) whose time of 22-48 was good enough for eighth overall.
Meanwhile, in the women’s even veteran Willis took victory by over a minute clocking a time of 25-30.
Willis was also winner in the Lanhydrock Wheelers 10 on her last outing and was again victor this time out recording an average speed of over 23.5 miles per hour.
Fellow veteran Maria Weymouth (Mid Devon CC) was second finishing in 26-47.
