Steve Lampier (Saint Piran) took his fourth victory of the season in the undulating Penzance Wheelers 10-mile time trial beating his rivals by over a minute, while Millie Skinner (Pro-Noctis - Redchilli Bikes - Heidi Kjeldsen) was the women’s victor.
Lampier, 37 and from Falmouth, showed his early season form once again beating his rivals by a minute and 39 seconds on this occasion.
The S45/10 sees riders start on the B3302 near Hayle before heading through Leedstown and then continue south to the bottom of the triangle-shaped course.
Riders headed back north on the B3303 through Nancegollan before turning for home back west at Praze-An-Beeble.
Conditions were unusually calm for the course leading to some fast times although the temperature was cold.
The undulating nature of the course has been known to put some riders off so organisers were delighted to have 53 riders on the start list.
Lampier was chasing his own course record but fell around 10 seconds short finishing in 21-01 with an average speed of 28.54 miles per hour.
It was Lampier’s fourth win in as many weeks adding to the Giant Helston 10, Northover VT 10 and Mid-Devon CC 23.
Tom Nancarrow (Nopinz Motip Race Team) finished second in the Plymouth Corinthian 10 earlier this month and had to settle for the runner-up spot again in 22-40.
David Bartlett (www.giant-helston.co.uk) completed the podium positions a further 34 seconds behind in 23-14.
Junior rider Harry Jukes (Mid Devon CC) has started the season in stellar form and finished fourth overall in 23-40 ahead of second junior Felix Whetter (St Austell Whls CC) in joint fifth a further 18 seconds back (23-58).
Meanwhile, quickest veteran on scratch was Rob Riches (Lanhydrock Wheelers) in 24-22 ahead of Penzance Wheelers CC team-mates Kevin Dawson (24-50) and Leon Malpas (24-53).
Fastest juvenile rider was Thomas Tregear (Wheal Velocity) in 29-57.
Skinner, aged 23, from Sheffield, took her first ever open victory in the women’s event recording a winning time of 28-43.
Veteran Rose Willis (St Austell Whs CC) took second in 30 minutes dead while Jenny Bolsom (Saint Piran) completed the podium positions in 30-21.
