Michelle Walter and Sam Wadsley were fastest female and male riders respectively at the Bournemouth Jubilee Wheelers 25-mile time trial, incorporating the South District Championship.
In-form Wadlsey notched up victory number four for the season, going within 27 seconds of a personal best in near perfect conditions for the event near Lytchett Minster in Dorset which used three circuits of the P413 dual carriageway course.
Wadsley, the 23-year-old from Poole, took the South District title and broke the course record with a time of 48-53 which gave him victory on the day by 1-15 over runner-up Joe Parker (Racing Club Ravenna), while third was Wessex Road Club veteran Tom Clements in 51-57.
The women's event was won by Michelle Walter (Bournemouth Arrow) finishing in 1:06:15 and taking the South District title, beating Rebecca Pearce (Ridgeway Riders) into second with a time of 1:06:32 with third going to Rachel Hackman (Royal Navy and Royal Marines CA).
Back at HQ many riders returned pleased with PB's, season's best or course best times.
Wadsley hasn’t finished lower than third in any of the ten time trials he has ridden so far this season. He started with a bang in April with victory in the CC Weymouth 10, and then also won the Bournemouth Jubilee Wheelers 10 in June.
July has seen him win the a3crg midweek 10 as well as this 25, and he hopes to secure more victories as the season progresses, starting with the Hampshire Road Club 25 next Sunday.
