Anouska Greenaway made it three wins in a row, while Jacob Storey secured his first win of the season at the VTTA Surrey/Sussex 10-mile event in East Sussex.

The event was run off in pleasant and warm conditions and used the G10/87 course near East Hoathly and saw Greenaway (Brighton Mitre CC) take her third victory in July, beating her nearest rival by over a minute.

Conversely Storey (Partenza Nude-Espresso) was just four seconds faster than the runner-up, his time of 20-44 beating Howard Bayley (Blazing Saddles) with 20-48, while third went to Lewes Wanderers CC rider Nick Dwyer with 21-40, and who was also fastest veteran on standard with a +5.57.

Her time of 24-37 was 1-08 quicker than Kate Thomas (Lewes Wanderers CC), while completing the podium was Olivia Webb of Eastbourne Rovers with 25-53.

25-year-old Greenaway was victorious in the Crawley Wheelers 10 and Brighton Excelsior CC 25 earlier this month, while she has several other podium finishes under her belt this season.

She will be going for a fourth consecutive win next Sunday when she is due to ride the Sussex CA 30-mile event.

This was Storey’s first win of the season so far, but comes after he placed second in the Witham Wheelers 10 last month as well as second in the Newbury RC 25 in May.

He is next in action in an open time trial next Saturday at the Chronos RT 10, while he hopes to also ride the Addiscombe CC 10 the following weekend.

As well as being third fastest overall Dwyer was the fastest veteran on standard, having a plus of 5-57 which was nine seconds better than Howard Bayley, with Jon Hunter being third best veteran on standard.
